Welcome to the USS Saturn

Without the crew, this ship, and simming in general, would be nothing.  It is not the rank that matters, but rather the enjoyment that we get from simming together.  As a way to recognize the individuals that put in the effort needed to make this a great crew, I will be giving out awards every month or so.  These awards, in my opinion, are the best way to be recognized for your efforts.  While I will make the ultimate decision of who gets which awards, your input is necessary.  If you believe that one of your fellow crew members deserves an award, please email me and tell me the following:

1.  Which Crew member you are nominating.
2.  Which Award(s)  you believe they have earned.
3.  Why you feel this way.

You may have noticed something that I didn't, or may help break a tie, so please let me know.

While the awards page will be updated each time awards are given, each crew members bio will list what awards they have received, and when.  This way you can brag to your fellow Bravo Fleet members :).

Please note that not all awards will be given out each month.  These will  have to be earned.

Award Description
Current Recipients

PROFESSIONAL MERIT

Awarded to the character that has developed his/her character with considerable talent, making that character a joy to interact with. Lt jg Anderson - For continued effort and quality in her posting, and working with others to help make this a great sim.

CAPTAIN'S MERIT

Awarded to the crew member of whom the captain feels worthy. Lt Drakir for helping to really make our Diplomatic office a great addition.
Lt jg Kennedy - For his continued service and attention to details. And for my "shadows'"

UNIT CITATION

Awarded to the crew member that shows considerable talent in working with other crew members to create a winning plot line worthy of the USS Saturn's reputation. Ensign Vance - Vance has shown, in a limited amount of time, that she is a great team player and a valuable addition to the Saturn.

SILVER STAR

Also known as "Character of the Month." The crew member that demonstrates supreme postings, posts often, and plays his/her character "to the hilt" will receive this award. Arguably considered one of the highest honors a crew member can receive.
Doctor Storm - What more can I say? Storm continues to write excellent posts and has developed several sides of his character. Great work.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS (DSC)

Awarded to a member of the crew that has been with the ship for about 3 months. This award is cumulative every 3 months of service with the USS Saturn. Automatic Award after every 3 months of service

Obviously, no one gets this award since we haven't been active 3 months. That was the easiest choice of all.

HEART OF THE TIGER

Awarded to the crew member that writes supreme battle posts, making their posts enjoyable and exciting to read in the heat of battle. This award is given to one naval crew member and one marine crew member each time it is  awarded, if applicable. Lt Young - Young wrote many solid battle scenes during the JM. He even made me look good lol.

TECHNICAL MEDAL

Awarded to the crew member that follows the technical standards of the Star Trek universe, incorporating them into their posts with near-flawless precision. NCO (now Ensign) Delkar and Ensign Lowell - Both of these characters have been a great addition regarding the technical matters.

ROSE AWARD

Awarded to the crew member that has made significant "romantic" character advancements. This has become an award in itself because romance gives a sense of realism and constant battle-only posts can get stale. Crew members that progress their character in a romantic setting deserve recognition in this respect. Ensign Blessing Camron.- Usually this is a 2 person award (sometimes even 3). This time though Camron stands alone. Between her current time line romances and dreams, and her posts about her past, she has brought  a real romantic side to the Saturn.

SERVICE COMMENDATION

Awarded to the crew member that performs his/her character's job and advances above and beyond the job description they were "hired" to follow. Ensign Delkar - Delkar has gone far above and beyond the call. Many of you were recruited by him, and he continues to work with many people to help continue to improve our game.

LITERARY "E" EXCELLENCE RIBBON (The "E")

Awarded for the best writing style: clear, precise, and easy to follow - yet allows the story to flow smoothly and easily passed off to another crew member. Also includes spelling and grammar. Lt jg Catalyst - Catalyst obviously spends a few extra minutes on each post ensuring that things are in order and presentable. She writes clearly, and creatively.

PLOT DEVELOPMENT CITATION (PDC)

For developing the current plot line and making it original and unexpected yet not unbelievable. In other words, the crew member that throws the best "monkey wrenches" into the plot to make it interesting, but not totally off-center.
Ensign Cole - Cole managed to bring in a great subplot during a "down" time. (which means we were only having 10 posts or so a day lol). And it's carrying over into the new mission. Nice job.

Crews Choice Award

Voted on by the crew of the USS Saturn. No real criteria, just the player the crew feels excelled that month. Cdmr Anderson (against my better judgement) and Lt Young. - On behalf of myself and my #1, thank you :).

New Comer of the Month

This award will be given to the newest member of the crew that puts in the most effort to make their character a valuable addition. Lt jg Raven - Raven has brought a much needed technical advancement to the ship; has done very well in the Ops position; and posts frequently.

Most Improved Player of the Month

This award will be given to the player that shows the most improvement from the month before. Truly an award to be cherished, as it is a result of a lot of time and hard work. Ensign Blessing Camron - While her posts weren't bad to begin with, they have continually improved in quality and quantity.
