Personality Profile:

In general, mentally sound and stable.  Somewhat laid-back regarding inconsequential matters, however, assigns importance to breaches of discipline resulting in possible present or future insubordination or danger to anyone.  Prefers not to receive missions within the main Romulan star system (owing to previous experiences), yet will accept what is assigned to the best of his ability.
 

Family:

Jeyradan has no family left alive.  His father was a lieutenant-commander in Starfleet, posthumously promoted to the rank of commander.  His mother was a civilian who worked in a medical research facility.  He had no brothers or sisters.  His mother was also an only child, and any other relatives on his father's side are as yet unknown to him.
 

Biography:

Born on Earth, he first sat behind a flight simulator at four years old, and grew up at the helms of many simulators and youth shuttles.  Devoted to piloting and to a Starfleet career from an early age, he worked toward this goal throughout school, scoring high marks every year.  At age thirteen, he was forced to watch as his mother and a friend of the family were killed and his house burned.  A year later, he again had to watch as his father was killed on the ship where he was serving as second officer.  Soon after, however, the man responsible (name available upon request) was dishonorably discharged from Starfleet and incarcerated.  

There are three names on his birth certificate after Jeyradan (the name Jeyradan comes from his DiWahn heritage), none of which he generally uses.  These are Thomas (after a gifted Starfleet pilot), James (after a Starfleet captain), and Mackenzie (after another captain, and in deference to his Xenexian heritage).
Jeyradan's first application to Starfleet was at age sixteen, immediately after his graduation from high school, and he was accepted.  (List of courses taken at Starfleet Academy are available upon request.)  Since then, he has piloted ships of the post-2270 Constitution class, as well as the Constellation, Ambassador, Nova, Galaxy, Nebula, Oberth, Miranda, Sovereign, and Intrepid classes (also shuttlecraft adhering to each of these classes).  Early in his Starfleet career, he was taken prisoner by the Cardassians, but recovered after nine days by Starfleet.  This, however, did not prepare him for his sudden capture several months later by the Romulans.  He was captured along with two other Starfleet officers.  After seventeen days, the three men attempted an escape, during which one officer died.  The other died several days later, after their rescue.  Physically, Jey received only a scar, but the experience has left its mark on him.
