Biography:

Anderson was born on Earth, but shortly after his birth his parents graduated from the SFA. The first memories that Steven has was of living on a star ship, and that was the life that he grew up knowing.  During his childhood Steven was not an exceptional child by any means. Average looking, average intelligence, and a rather shy child, Steven never really stood out from his peers.  It wasn't until he reached the age of 15 that he really began to show signs of promise, but he learned quickly.  By 17 he knew that he wanted to join starfleet and asked his parents CO if he would recommend him to the academy, which he did. 

During his acadmey years Anderson was described as being very disciplined, dedicated, and a little hard headed.  He would look at all sides of a situation, and take input from his class mates and instructors, but once he made up his mind it would take an act of God to change it.  This caused him a few problems from time to time, but overall his superiors and peers grew to respect his mannerisms.  Anderson focused his education on engineering and tactical aspects.  He knew that his goal was to one day command his own ship, and he wanted as much knowledge behind him as possible. 

After graduation, Anderson's first assignment was as a Tactical officer on a small ship.  He severed in this position for a year, eventually working his way to Asst. Chief. He then was transferred to a special assignment which involved classified details.  The only known information about this assignment was that it involved covert operations and was limited to a 5 member team. This assignment lasted for 2 years. 

Upon returning from his assignment, Anderson was allowed a limited pick of assignments, and he took a position as the 2nd officer on board the USS Gladiator.  About a year later, he was promoted to First Officer, after his predecessor took command of his own ship.  During the time that he served as First Officer his ship was involved in many diplomatic, exploratory, and militaristic operations.  Anderson learned from one of the best officer's in starfleet how to handle most situations, and that their weapons should only be used as a last resort.

Anderson had no intentions of seeking his own ship for a couple more years, however his CO had other plans.  One day he was told that his CO was recommending him for command of the USS Saturn.  This came as a surprise to Anderson, and after several conversations with his CO and other friends, he decided that if it was offered he would accept the challenge. 

Two weeks later, the orders came down the pike that Anderson was to take command of the Saturn as soon as possible.
