Talium is a very competent physician, however he has a great deal to learn
about being a Starfleet Officer. He often speaks before thinking things
through completely, and has a temper that can get him into trouble.
His medical skills are above average, and he will be an asset to any ship
that he is assigned.
Father: M'Nar Jamir - Former Bajoran Militia. Currently a business
owner
Mother: M'Nar Kyrina - A specialist in the use of bajoran herbs and
folk medicine
Talium was born to a rather ordinary family on Bajor. His parents
were perfectly comfortable leading a quiet, unassuming life. That
was of course before the Cadrassian occupation. Mr. M'Nar was one
of the first citizens to join the new malitia and spent several years fighting
the Cardassian Occupation. Mrs. M'Nar, on the other hand, educated
herself in the Bajoran healing arts, and we a valuable asset to her community
during the fighting. As Talium was growing up, he helped his mother in
her work, but longed to join the malitia. After he was old enough,
he joined his father in the malitia and spent 2 years fighting the Cardassians.
Countless times he was called on to use his knowledge he gleamed from his
mother to help the injured and sick malitia members. Once the Bajoran's
had finally regained control of their planet, Talium knew that he was more
interested in pursuing a medical career, than a militaristic one.
He joined starfleet, and attended the academy, receiving high enough marks
to earn him a place at the medical academy. During his time there
he was challenged to expand his knowledge of other races and treatment
methods. He never really conformed to the ideal officer mold, but
was able to keep from getting into any major trouble that would have caused
him to be removed from Starfleet before his career even began. Upon graduating,
he was assigned to the USS Saturn to serve as the Asst. CMO.
