Personality Profile:

At 5'10 inches tall with an athletic build, Akara has dark auburn hair, with deep dark eyes. Though she is part Klingon, her forehead is not as pronounced as full-blooded Klingons but the ridges that are on her head are soft and smooth. With strong built legs, Akara is known for speed and power. Known for her temper flairs, Akara has learned to control most of her Klingon heritage, but when pushed she tends to be quick and fierce not allowing the other person a chance to retaliate.

Biography:

Born on a medical ship in route to a Star Base on the Breen border, R'Tak's first few years were being bounced from one post to another. Growing up with out any other brothers and sisters, R'Tak learned to become a very open minded young woman. Not getting along with most children her age, R'Tak took up the sport of track and field. Winning many Star Fleet track meets, she found that she had a gift of speed. As she got older her Klingon side began to show more and she wanted to have a more physical outlet for herself. Taking up martial arts, R'Tak earned a 4th degree black belt in Tai Chi, and a 2nd degree black belt in Karate. Her childhood was pleasant, for the most part, until her Father was killed at Wolf 359. Going through a deep depression, R'Tak looked to a way to vent her anger at the Borg, for what happened to her father. With her father gone, R'Tak's mother wanted to go back to QonoS to be with her family, and to forget the memory of losing her husband to the Borg. Not wanting to go to QonoS, R'Tak applied to Star Fleet Academy and was accepted in 2368. Spending a full four years at the Academy, R'Tak found her passion, Biology. After being in the top 25% of her class, she met a medical student by the name of Sorena Thann. The two became good friends, and after much debate on the part of Thann, she got Ensign R'Tak to change majors and get into medical school. Once there, R'Tak found that she could pursue her passion and apply it to another part of biology, the body. With Thann as her partner R'Tak began to excel in the field of medicine, focusing more on Alien anatomy and the composition of living organisms.

Before graduating from medical school, R'Tak and Thann attended a convention on biotechnology with a guest speaker by the name of Dr. Jacob Storm. Finding the lecture very informative R'Tak and Thann met Dr. Storm after his lecture and began to ask questions. Dr. Storm seeing the eagerness of the two young Doctors, Storm answered their questions with great pleasure. Wanting to know more about the Doctor and his field R'Tak and Thann asked Dr. Storm out for dinner. The three of them hit it off right away, but R'Tak knowing Thann as she did, could tell that she was not just interested in what the Doctor had to say about biotechnology, but the Doctor himself. After spending an evening with Dr. Storm, the three parted company with hope that they would meet again. With orders to ship out in a few days Thann began to get her things in order. R'Tak was feeling like she was being left behind with still one more year of school left, but was happy for her friend. They have stayed in touch, sending messages and photos to each other after there parting.

A few years later, Dr. Thann was looking for a new post, and came across an old name that she has not seen in years, Dr. Jacob Storm. Appling to the USS Saturn as the Asst. CMO Thann decided to turn down the offer of her old friend and search for a post where she could be the CMO.

Wanting to help her old friend, she gave him a name that he could follow up on for his Asst. CMO position, her good friend R'Tak. Dr. Storm contacted her about the position and remembering old times, she submitted her application to Lieutenant Commander Steven Anderson CO of the Saturn, where she was accepted as the new Assistant Chief Medical Officer.
