Mother: Deceased
Sylvok was born on Vulcan in the year 2301.Born to a prominent Vulcan Family, his father, Ambassador Trivec ,is with the Star Feet diplomatic Corp. Sylvok’s mother was a doctor within Star Fleet but died while he was still very young of a unidentified disease. With his father not at home much to raise the young Vulcan, Ambassador Trivec was forced to place Sylvok in a Vulcan monastery to be raised by monks and to be taught proper Vulcan discipline. Though he struggles with emotion, he managed to be in the top 1% of his class. Excelled in Science, Biology, Biochemistry and even diplomatic relations. Shunned by other young Vulcan’s for not having total logic and the ability to suppress all emotion, Sylvok spent most of his young years alone and desired to leave Vulcan to explore his own true meaning to his emotions and how to control them. With the loss of his mother at such a young age, Sylvok had deep seeded emotions of sadness and regret, his father always being the “true” Vulcan, would never talk about Sylvok’s mother or the strange feelings that he was having. Trivec, feeling that Sylvok would be a embarrassment to his family and Vulcan separated his self from his son, and took long missions away from Vulcan, leaving Sylvok in the care of the monks while he was gone. After a few years, Sylvok found a new passion, he wanted to find the reason and cure for the disease that killed his mother so long ago. Going to the best medical schools on Vulcan and graduating near the top of his class, Sylvok still had no answer to his mothers death. Sylvok decided to follow in his mothers footsteps and apply to
Star Fleet, seeking his fathers approval while he was on leave of duty
in the Diplomatic Corp, Sylvok approached his father and asked his permission
to join Star Fleet. But Trivec knowing his sons weakness of emotion did
not want him to join Star Fleet and embarrass his family and Vulcans.
Feeling a strong emotion of anger, Sylvok left Vulcan to apply to Star
Fleet while his father was on another diplomatic mission. Was
accepted to Star Fleet Academy in 2369. Graduating Suma Cum Laude and Valedictorian
in 2377, was asked to stay at Star Fleet Academy as an instructor and given
the Rank of Lt. J.g. but turned down the position to be able to explore
on a starship. Feeling the loss of such a fine medical officer, Bravo Fleet
gave Sylvok his choice of any ship in the Fleet. Doing his research
he heard rumors that the USS Saturn under Lt.Cmdr Steven Anderson had one
of the best crews in the Fleet, and with the Saturn being a new ship, While
turning down the appointement to Starfleet Academy meant he would actually
have to take a lower rank, he felt that it was worth it. Sylvok felt
that this would be the place for him.
